XPRESS MAGAZINE MARCH 2005
"We liked Zaffron's as soon as we walked in. It is long and narrow
with a stark modern interior, but they have made the most of the space by
splitting the level. The bar on the upper level has both low, sleek,
intimate seating and comfortable bar stools and, the fact that it soon
filled up with locals, visitors, diners ande non diners alike tells it's
own story.
Zaffron succeeds because it provides a
satisfying fusion of Cypriot and Mediterranean food at not too
unreasonable prices.
Offering an array of regional seafood
titbits on a bed of lettuce to the tipplers who aren't dining is another
attractive asset although, to their peril, I passed on a starter as a
result" SEVEN MAGAZINE FEBRUARY
2005
"The reason we returned to Zaffron again is purely because it now offers
one of the best lunchtime value for money menus I have tasted in a long
time. Sitting running through the list of dishes, I was reminded,
for the first time in years, of long, lovely lunches in Soho with comfort
dishes such as cheese and spinach ravioli in Gorgonzola sauce, or a
thumping big salad of Parma ham, Chorizo sausage, beef pastrami with mixed
greens and sun dried tomatoes."
"Zaffron is one of those
special places that we desperately need in Paphos: It's a reminder
that that yes we can still enjoy good quality imaginative food in
lovely surroundings without always being forced to go to a five star
hotel to experience comfort both in the venue and in the food."
