Church Ceremonies
Everything from Civil Ceremony Requirements,
plus;
A letter of introduction from your own minister at
home
For Anglican Ceremonies – at least one Baptism
Certificate.
For Catholic Ceremonies – both Bride and Groom need
Baptism Certificates

Civil Ceremonies
10 year Passport valid for at least 6 months from
your departure date.
Birth Certificates
Statutory Declarations or Affidavits. This is a
signed certificate from a solicitor in your country
confirming you are UK Citizens and that you are free
to marry. The document must be valid for 6 months,
including your wedding date and must bear the
solicitors official stamp. (One each for the Bride
and Groom)
Decree Absolute if divorced. This must have the
court stamp on it
Death Certificate, if either party has been widowed
If either of the party is under 18 years of age,
parental or guardian written consent is required,
stamped and signed by a solicitor.
Adoption certificates where appropriate
Legal Proof/Deed Poll if either or both parties have
changed their name
For Irish Citizens: a ‘Freedom to Marry Certificate’
from the Irish Embassy in the UK or the Department
of Foreign Affairs in Ireland.
The two witnesses should produce their passports.
We
